Hey everyone, Sorry for my absence recently - trying to move after having a baby (Oops! I mean - helping my wife have a baby). Anyway, had to post a small casting tidbit from Ausiello so I can feel like a blogger again
(You have to scroll down to get to the casting question/answer - I think it's the 4th item down).
In the previous writer's strike, I recall that StarTrek: The Next Generation got away with fan submissions, a clip show and a reused script from an aborted Trek series.
I'm assuming the terms must be harsher this time, othewise we'd just see old Space: Above and Beyond scripts being refilmed as Battlestar Galactica.
Michael SPOILER! - It looks like Harold Perrineau (Michael) will be appearing in episode 8 - along with Cynthia Watros (Libby). Which means, if they only air the first 8 episodes in Feb. & March b/c of the strike, at least the beginning of the 'return of Michael' story line will make it onto our screens before the strike hit. whew....I think. Ausiello has the scoop.
Of course this will pretty frustrating to just get one episode with Michael (very possibly appearing mere seconds before the final 'LOST' logo at the end of the episode - pure speculation though) and then have to wait another year possibly. (sigh) come ON ABC/Disney! pony the fuck up and end this thing!
(sigh) I'm not even going to try and catch up with all the shooting info in the last week or so that I've missed reporting on - sorry for the limited presence here.
Besides a new haircut on Jorge Garcia and a new Mobisode featuring Michael and Juliet, and with production pretty much wrapped for the year (with the strike and all) the only other news I can find worth reporting is a production sighting by Brian - a friend of Ryan @The Transmission:
“They were shooting a bunch of scenes with Harold Perrineau coming out of a NYC apartment building, getting in a green car, reading some folded paper that he pulled out of his pocket, and speeding away in his car down the street.”
Ryan adds: "A brief scene, to be sure, but it obviously connects to the New York scene they filmed a few blocks away on Nov. 15. Note that the green Dodge Aspen that Michael was driving last night was also part of that earlier shoot, where I’d picked up talk of a car crash. I knew the car wasn’t long for this world (thanks to the friend of a friend of a Dodge Aspen owner), but I didn’t know until now that it was Michael behind the wheel."
Michael Emerson has some S4 info to share: You will meet a bunch of new characters in Season 4, and you're not going to know what to make of them. And in Lost, the characters who die aren't gone forever. I can tell you that the fourth season is haunted by the characters of the past," Emerson revealed.
"It's violent. The first episodes have a lot of blood, sweat, tears, running in the jungle and beatings. Everything is in flux because no one has a community anymore. The castaways have abandoned their camp, the Others have been decimated and left their community. And now there's this tremendous threat from outside"
Also, you can watch Lost Mobisode 5 which is a Jack & Juliet scene.
There are also supposedly theatrical trailers for Season 4 showing - but no guerilla videos have been shot of them as far as I've been able to tell. Maybe they'll make their way on to "the Internets" at some point.
An intriguing nugget from Ausiello @TVGuide RE: the return of MICHAEL:
"...in one scene he appears opposite a gun-toting character we thought was dead — and who still may be. And here's the real kicker: The scene does not take place on the island. Far from it, in fact."
Wow - let the speculation begin. Who do we think it is?
strange boat girl that i can't remember the name of?
you'd think it'd have to be someone that Michael hasn't met on Island if it's a flashback. of course, if it's a flash forward then it's probably not someone who definitively died on Island.
For some reason I am worried it will just be a nightmare/mirage of Ana Lucia (in a flash-forward) brought on as a result of Michaels guilt. I really want it to be a real person, not some dream-like-vision-of-Boone crap.
Also, it could take place presently (not future or past) before Michael actually gets back to the island - "Far from" the island could mean a lot of things and we don't know how far Michael and Walt got, do we?
I'm just realizing that back on 11/14 (5th post down on this thread), Ausiello had said that Libby would be in Ep. 8 along with the return of Michael. So perhaps crazy-ass Libby wields the gun and is out for some f-ing justice?
Good point about Ana Lucia Chris. Also, if you consider what Michael Emerson said recently about characters who die on Lost not being gone forever as well as S.4 being "haunted by the characters of the past" it could be her in the future I guess (if he meant they literally aren't gone/dead).
Also, there's the "alternate" planecrash to consider, along with Desmond's flashes. Who the F knows - lol
2 things I'm wondering...in the 4th pic, is it an on-camera pic or off-camera? If it's on-camera, why are most of the people smiling, if it's off-camera, why isn't Emilie De Ravin smiling?
Trevor - that's Alex's (Rousseau's daughter) boyfriend (what's his name?) who furiously paddled over to the Fusies in "Through the Looking Glass" (or was it "Greatest Hits") to frantically warn them that the Others were coming.
Also look out for Sayid's Torture Kitchen where he terrorises various meat-bearing animals in order to provide succulent vittles. In the last episode he snaps a horse with his elbows.
- He reports "A big premiere demands an even bigger scoop: I'm hearing that a significant death occurs sometime after Episode 4, but before Episode 8."
- He also says that Sawyer and Kate are gonna get in the sack at least one time this mini-season.
I assume "canoodling" means sex, but he does also describe it as "innocent" so we'll see.

Dark UFO also has the Michael scoop if Ausiello bumps it off his page.
Oops - I missed one!
Another spoiler from Ausiello via Dark UFO:
"Episode 6 is Juliet-centric and features the return of three deceased characters: *o*****, **h*n, and **. *r*e*d**."
kablamo!
nice!

Some more stuff popped up over the weekend - all of which is at Dark UFO:
Along with these filming/production photos, and these

interesting... very interesting...
Hey peoplz,
An intriguing nugget from Ausiello @TVGuide RE: the return of MICHAEL:
"...in one scene he appears opposite a gun-toting character we thought was dead — and who still may be. And here's the real kicker: The scene does not take place on the island. Far from it, in fact."
Wow - let the speculation begin. Who do we think it is?
.....I'm thinking.....
NADIA GOES RAMBO!!!
ok, maybe not.
strange boat girl that i can't remember the name of?

Hot on the tail of this discussion of Michael comes a photo of Michael/Harold Perrinneau on a freighter.
So, I wonder if the freighter picked up Michael and Walt, or if it is how Michael is trying to get back to the island, or both?
Also I forgot to include previously that Ausiello @TV Guide also said that
"Michael's reappearance in Episode 8 is guaranteed to, ahem, make waves"
So that fits with arriving on a freighter
or a tsunami :0
ALSO
(speculation)
I'm just realizing that back on 11/14 (5th post down on this thread), Ausiello had said that Libby would be in Ep. 8 along with the return of Michael. So perhaps crazy-ass Libby wields the gun and is out for some f-ing justice?
I have Ana Lucia in mind as well. She's the more likely for gun-toting except, perhaps, for Anthony Cooper.
That's in itself if we aren't talking about an Other - it'd be good to see Ethan out and about in NYC causing some chaos.
But if it is her, how will they cheat it as it's very unlikely to be in the past.
Right - that "nickname" option is rubbish, just makes you look like a drive by poster pretending to be someone else.
Good point about Ana Lucia Chris. Also, if you consider what Michael Emerson said recently about characters who die on Lost not being gone forever as well as S.4 being "haunted by the characters of the past" it could be her in the future I guess (if he meant they literally aren't gone/dead).

Sci Fi Wire interview with Cuse - he says we HAVE seen whoever is in the coffin before.
hmmmm......
damn!
post-mortem kablammo.
that's two or three I've missed recently :(
FINALLY!
Someone recorded a crappy video of the Lost theatrical trailer for Season 4.
You can barely make out any of the audio and the video is shaky and crap, but at least Dark UFO also has slowed down version
Zoe Bell to appear in episode 7 this Season and Daniel Roebuck to appear in mobisode coming up (when? i don't know :))
Zoe Bell is:
a) excellent
b) very excellent
c) fucking excellent.
Delete as applicable.
CHECK IT OUT
A SLEW of production photos from S.4.
2 things I'm wondering...in the 4th pic, is it an on-camera pic or off-camera? If it's on-camera, why are most of the people smiling, if it's off-camera, why isn't Emilie De Ravin smiling?
Also - what plane are they standing next to?!?!?
I guess that could be the cockpit/1st class section of the plane
the plane = Flight 815
I think you're right about the plane, mb, I thought the same thing.
Who's the smiley guy in the 5th row (next to the pics of Jack/Kate and Kate alone)? Frogurt?
Trevor - that's Alex's (Rousseau's daughter) boyfriend (what's his name?) who furiously paddled over to the Fusies in "Through the Looking Glass" (or was it "Greatest Hits") to frantically warn them that the Others were coming.
Ohhh, it's Carl.
Damn ... long break has me off my game.
Spoiler seg is a-comin' on the next TLI but in the meantime - Ausiello has a kind of cryptic little forward-looking info:
"You've heard of Laverne & Shirley? Get ready for Claire & Kate."
Cue the music - "...we're gonna make our dreams some true - doin' it always..." - lol - what the hell might this mean?
SPINOFF!
Also look out for Sayid's Torture Kitchen where he terrorises various meat-bearing animals in order to provide succulent vittles. In the last episode he snaps a horse with his elbows.
LOL
other spinoffs:
My Name is Sawyer - Sawyer makes a Karma list for all the shit he's pulled
The Odd Couple - Hurley and Sawyer, Ben and Jack, or Locke and Jack - take your pick
Return to Lost Fantasy Island - Jacob = Riccardo Montalbon??
This may or may not make it into the upcoming spoiler seg but I thought I should post it since it was so specific. Ausiello @TV Guide says:
"I have it on good authority that someone we thought was killed in the season finale will turn up very much alive in the Jan. 31 premiere.
Also while he wouldn't answer a question about the 4 toed statue he did say:
"...other interesting 'out of place' objects will turn up, both on and off the island"
I meant to add that Ausiello also makes a multiple-choice question of who's not dead - the choices are:
Tom Friendly
Mikhail
Naomi
Charlie
my $$ is on Naomi personally
Nice big fat spoiler seg coming today over at the Scott and Steve blog (and on iTunes)
Stay tuned!
The Season 4 Spoiler Preview is up at the Scott and Steve blogspot
Hey all,
Of course there's morte spoilerage as soon as I put out the spoiler seg:
Ausiello @TV Guide has two bits of info -
- He reports
"A big premiere demands an even bigger scoop: I'm hearing that a significant death occurs sometime after Episode 4, but before Episode 8."
- He also says that Sawyer and Kate are gonna get in the sack at least one time this mini-season.
I assume "canoodling" means sex, but he does also describe it as "innocent" so we'll see.
This thread needed to end at 42.
