[JASON] Any ethnicity, late 30s-60s. Former soldier. A leader of men. Smart but more than that – he is wise. Strong and straightforward. The words he says are always listened to and they carry gravitas. GUEST STAR two episodes. May lead to recurrings. Looking for someone very interesting and very special for this role...
[SAMUEL] Any ethnicity, 40s-60s. A corporate raider looking to take over his next company. Powerful, devious and obtuse. He has a cunning intellect and a strong sense of danger. GUEST STAR two episodes. May lead to recurring. Looking for someone very interesting and very special for this role...
[MITCH] any ethnicity, 30s. A security man with enough intelligence and physical menace to be good at his job, but he's not moving into management. RECURRING, Guest Star.
SCI-FI wire did an interview with Sterling Beaumon (who plays young Ben), who I think appears in tonight's episode as well as a few more coming up - he's in the cast list for this episode:
SFW: ...give us a hint as to what you'll be up to in your episodes.
SB: You're going to find out how Ben became the mean, cruel Ben that he is today. And you're going to find out about the roots of the island and how the island became the island. ... In two of the episodes, I'm really not doing a lot, but you just see me a lot, and you'll see what I mean by that.
SFW: Did you go back and watch any of Michael Emerson's performances as Ben in order to help you play a natural extension of the character?
SB: After I did my first episode [a couple of years ago], we became hooked on Lost, and I watched every single episode. Actually, ["Namaste" director] Jack Bender told me, "You do anything like Michael, and it'll ruin what's coming up." I didn't know what he meant, because I hadn't gotten the next script. And then I [read the next script and thought], "Oh, wow, I see why I can't act like Michael." Because you'll see why Michael starts acting like Ben within these episodes.

Sorry for any confusion - those episodes were numbered based on number of episodes CUMULATIVELY from the Pilot - Season 1, instead of being numbered by [season #].[episode #] like we usually do.
With the spoilers that I reported (and I think The Transmission mentioned it also) a while back of scenes being filmed in an islandish setting involving a young blond haired caucasian male and a young Asian female who looked like Sun (sorry - I can't find the links), most peoples speculation seemed to be that these two might be Ji-Yeon and Aaron in the future.
And if you watched the sneak peek clips (or heard them on the spoiler podcast) then you saw Richard saying (in 2007) that he watched all of our Losties die in the past.
So, I'm wondering if perhaps that's what is going to happen - they all actually DIE - and then are brought back somehow by JiYeon and Aaron. Anyone have any additional ideas?
Alright - it had to happen as we head into the final 3 hours of season 5.
With the apparent pre-screening of "Follow the Leader" at Ohio State University last night - the synopsis has of course been leaked.
I am not reading it. Synopses are kind of where I personally draw the line with spoilers. However, I of course do not judge - some people really love to read 'em so, for synopsis lovers - FOLLOW THIS LINKAGE TO SPOILER BLISS
1: What appears to be Faraday's voice in the old Dharma video (with the chaos and Chang in the 70's sweats) is now deemed a continuity error.
2. Kate saving Ben's life was course correction (please note he said this while in discussion of something else)
3. we should be hearing from Bernard and Rose soon (he sounded as if it was in this week episode, but wasn't)
So, #1 really kind of pisses me off. What I want to know now is whether that was Jeremy Davies voice in the Comic Con video. If it was then they apparently fucked up and are not paying off something that they MUST have known people were going to notice. Did they ever state that the Comic Con videos were NON-Canon?
Continuing on the idea that Aimee suggested on the podcast that Jacob "wants" to die (meaning he wants to be released from the island and the cabin) - I'm thinking about the spoilers that have been reported saying that Jacob shows up at various events in our Losties pasts (like Jin & Sun's wedding, the funeral for Sawyer's parents...). What if he is indeed trapped on the island (and perhaps Ben is even complicit in either TRAPPING him or KEEPING him there), and when he said "help me" to Locke in "Man Behind the Curtain", he was asking, as Aimee said, to be released/freed? Going further (into spoilers - assuming they turn out true) the fact that he visited the pasts of the 815ers might suggest that he tried to steer all of them onto paths that would make them end up on the island - and perhaps he did this knowing that their arrival would ultimately result in freeing him. This also supports the idea that Locke's intent to "kill" Jacob really means that he intends to kill the IDEA of Jacob as an omnipotent being, by freeing him.

sigh - more patience
Apparently the rumor that's floating about the interwebs that Evi is leaving the show is fairly suspect - Evangeline Lilly's camp is denying it - well, pretty much (her spokesperson and ABC aren't talking)

I have neglected this blog so badly :(

Carlton Cuse also gave some info last night:
1: What appears to be Faraday's voice in the old Dharma video (with the chaos and Chang in the 70's sweats) is now deemed a continuity error.

OH -
KABLAMMO on that last post and
Here's the link to the info Carlton gave
I'm liking my theory more and more (4 posts back). It would provide a season-end cliffhanger on the scale of "Through the Looking Glass".
Continuing on the idea that Aimee suggested on the podcast that Jacob "wants" to die (meaning he wants to be released from the island and the cabin) -
I'm thinking about the spoilers that have been reported saying that Jacob shows up at various events in our Losties pasts (like Jin & Sun's wedding, the funeral for Sawyer's parents...). This also supports the idea that Locke's intent to "kill" Jacob really means that he intends to kill the IDEA of Jacob as an omnipotent being, by freeing him.
Not sure if this all makes sense - just ideas
